Mary Clark, LMFT Psychotherapy
Therapy can benefit people at many different times of their lives. When choosing to begin a relationship with a therapist, you are taking a bold step to empower yourself to create a more meaningful life.
During times of uncertainty and stress, coping tools may need to be bolstered, or you may notice patterns in your ways of responding that you want to address. Patterns give us information about feelings we carry, and needs we attempt to fulfill. By forming a strong alliance with my clients, grounded in a stance of non-judgement and unconditional positive regard, I work to foster the skills, trust, and esteem for you to bravely overcome challenges, and acknowledge and act upon your most authentic self.

I am a culturally sensitive therapist, who recognizes the impact of systemic oppression and violence. I welcome clients of diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz, and my M.S. in Counseling, with foci in Marriage and Family Therapy and School Counseling from California State University, Northridge. I became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2017.
I completed intensive training in the Recovery Model/Psychosocial Rehabilitation Model of mental health, which emphasizes the potential for all people to thrive, the importance of the social context, and of challenging the stigma associated with mental health difficulties. I've worked as a counselor in schools, community agencies, a group home for teens, and a women's shelter before working in private practice.
I have worked in private practice since 2013, using evidence-based treatments and techniques to help clients with a variety of presenting concerns, from diverse backgrounds.
